The quality of water environment is in close touch with our daily life and directly affects thesurvival and reproduction of humanity as well as the sustainable development of society.Targeted water environment monitoring helps us to timely discover and solve the problem ofchanges in water quality that has great impacts on human lives. And the emergence and boomingof wireless sensor network has provided us with a new solution to water environment monitoring.Wireless sensor network changes the interactive ways between human and the world, it connectsthe information sensor devices with the Internet and combines the actual objective world withthe information world. Research work is carried out by applying the technology of wirelesssensor network in water environmental monitoring system. On one hand, monitoring systembased on sensor network has many characteristics such as the ease of deployment, high reliability,low cost of operation and maintenance, etc. On the other hand, water environment is a topicalscenario closely associated with our daily life under which realizing wireless sensor network willhave great demonstrating and social significance.In the paper, advantages and disadvantages of related water environmental monitoringtechnologies are discussed based on sufficient investigation about relevant technologies andconditions from home and abroad. A well-functioning water environmental monitoring systemusing wireless network sensor is proposed. Work completed include: first, existed typicalhardware and software platforms are compared and analyzed to confirm suitable hardwaredevices and wireless transmission protocol for the system. Second, working principle of sensorsbased on physical parameters in water environment is discussed. Third, peripheral circuit isdesigned and nodes that are resistant to external environments and electro-magnetic interferenceare developed. Also, the success rates of RF signal transmission and reception between nodes aretested and verified. Furthermore, backend server system is built to collect, store and process datathat is detected, converged and uploaded to the system through Zigbee network based on whichare capable to dynamically send information and change the working modes of acquisition nodesreal time. Finally, the development of water environmental monitoring system utilizing wirelesssensor network is summarized and forecasted in the paper. |
