Nowadays,the researching and exploiting of new fiber for textile area neverstops,cotton-straw peel fiber draw more and more attention as a kind of new naturalcellulose fiber. Cotton-straw peel fiber known as technology fiber, the fiber appearshigh stiff and there are variance in its length and fineness, which seriously affect thefurther application of the fiber in textile area.Cotton-straw peel fiber used in this investigation was obtained through chemicaldegumming method,the original fiber should be oiling and softening, it is necessaryto adjust the moisture regain of the fiber to improve its strength and softness beforethe carding processes. Four carding processes scheme used in the article to carding thefiber, that is, two single carding machine carding scheme including the roll cardcarding and the stationary flat card carding; two combination carding scheme of flatcard and stationary flat card including after the roll card carding processes thenthrough the stationary flat card carding and after the stationary flat card cardingprocesses then through the roll card carding.First, assess the better single machine carding scheme by the basic fiberproperties as length、finesse、deflection and short fiber content, as the result that thesynthesize fiber properties are better when the fiber carding for three times by the rollcard at the moisture regain is25%; the synthesize fiber properties are better when thefiber carding for twice by the stationary flat card at the moisture regain is15%. Adjustthe combination carding scheme as the basic of the better single machine cardingscheme, then carding the fiber with the combination carding scheme. Assess the betterthe combination carding scheme by the basic fiber properties as length、finesse、deflection and short fiber content, as the result that the synthesize fiber properties arebetter when the fiber carding twice by the roll card and then carding by the stationaryflat card twice when the fiber moisture regain is25%; the synthesize fiber propertiesare better when the fiber carding three times by the stationary flat card and thencarding by the roll card twice when the fiber moisture regain is15%. Finally, comparethe synthesize properties of the fiber carded by the four better carding scheme, comethe result that the synthesize fiber properties are best when the fiber carding twice by the roll card and then carding twice by the stationary flat card when the fiber moistureregain is25%. The best synthesize fiber properties: the fineness of the fiber is1.71tex;the length of the fiber is37.97mm, the deflection of the fiber is3.13twist/(tex·m),andthe short fiber content is18.13%. In the mean time of assessing the properties of thefiber, the best result of the carding processes was figured out more heuristic by themacroscopic and microcosmic modality.The investigation of carding processes on cotton-straw peel fiber with fourcarding scheme was done successfully. Cotton-straw peel fiber could gain a bestsynthesize fiber properties through the combination carding scheme: first carding bythe roll card and then carding by the stationary flat card. It is obtained that cardingprocesses improved the carding length and fineness of the cotton-straw peel fiber, theregularity of length was improved, the deflection was also be improved and thefineness was reduced obviously.
