Nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark is a new kind of green, environmental protection cellulose fiber. People pay more attention to research anduse it. The nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark morphology and itsperformance differences were investigated, to provide process optimization andreasonable application as basic research for nature cellulose fibre from cotton-strawbark.In this paper, the cotton stalk bark is divided into upper cotton stalk bark (abovethe ground) and root cotton stalk bark (below the ground). The same chemicaldegumming methods and technological conditions were used to produce naturecellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark, and after roller card machine carding one timeas raw fiber sample. Then through sulfuric acid solution treating, hydrosulfitebleaching treating, hydrogen peroxide bleaching treating, hydrosulfite/hydrogenperoxide bleaching joint treating to process raw nature cellulose fibre fromcotton-straw bark sample. Using orthogonal design to optimize the experimentalconditions of the sulfuric acid solution processing and fiber bleaching treatment. The nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark performance of beforetreatment and after optimization of experimental conditions treatment were tested. The results showed that there were the differences between the root nature cellulosefibre from cotton-straw bark and upper nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark. The raw fiber and after optimization of experimental conditions treatment fibers alonga single fiber length direction were tested using an optical microscope. It was obtainedthat the along the fiber length direction fineness range of root nature cellulose fibrefrom cotton-straw bark was larger than that of the upper nature cellulose fibre fromcotton-straw bark, sulfuric acid solution treated nature cellulose fibre fromcotton-straw bark had he best uniformity of fineness. A single fiber length method ofmeasurement was used for determination of length distribution of the rawcotton-straw fiber and treated fiber. The results showed that nature cellulose fibrefrom cotton-straw bark length was in line with the normal distribution, and fiberlength was within50~90mm. The length irregularity of sulfuric acid solution treatednature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark was minimum, and the average length ofthe root nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark was shorter than that of theupper nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark. The morphology and fibers tensile breaking sectional morphology of raw nature cellulose fibre from cotton-strawbark and optimization experimental conditions treated fibers were observed usingscanning electron microscope. The results showed that the upper nature cellulose fibrefrom cotton-straw bark surface was smooth, while the root fiber was rough, and therewere obvious grooves on root nature cellulose fibre from cotton-straw bark surface. The tensile breaking sectional appearance of nature cellulose fibre from cotton-strawbark showed that the appearance of the upper nature cellulose fibre from cotton-strawbark was the same as the root fiber.
