With the rapid development of virtual reality technology, many areas are benefited in thevirtual reality technology. For example, modern education and training more and moreintroduce virtual reality technology to coordinate teaching, for making students to absorb morerapidly and to master professional knowledge. Such as the virtual machine operating offorklifts and excavators, aircraft simulate flight, ship driving, firearms and artillery virtualexercises, et al.The modeling and three-dimensional visualization of Mining Industry Square can providea visualization platform for the planning and development of mine. On the computer screen, wecan virtually plan, design, research and explore the industry square. It can provide ahuman-computer interaction for the users to be personally on the scene, to feel the fieldenvironment, and to get a better understanding of mine, which can more quickly understand theoverall layout of the Mining Industry Square. It can also provide effective help to themanagement of the mine surface facilities and a WYSIWYG communication window aboutmine for the concerned persons. This paper uses the knowledge of virtual reality technology, computer graphics andtechnology to achieve the scene of Mining Industry Square three-dimensional digital, totransform the traditional plane mining scene into three-dimensional Mining Industry Square.Needless to say, the three-dimensional visualization of mine is more vivid and clear at a glance. The simulation of Mining Industry Square mainly creates a visual program engine through theVisual C++6.0and OpenGL graphical development libraries. It uses the idea of the3DS Maxthree-dimensional graphical modeling tool components to separate the complex ground squarefacilities of mine into the individual elements, and then to combine them, for achieving avirtual three-dimensional Mining Industry Square. Virtual Mining Industry Square has keyscenes elements of the scene roaming, scene interaction, industrial buildings and landscape, aswell as achieve the different perspective observation of the mine’s details and specific scenes.Modeling and visualization of the Mining Industry Square can display the whole picture of theMining Industry Square in particular, and let persons without mining knowledge understandthe Mining Industry Square more intuitively through the system, persons with differentbackgrounds and knowledge communicate and study from each other, and then provide themine a platform of self-presentation, overall planning and construction, promote the mine moreprosperous and sustainable development.
