Temperature test is one kind of the reliability test. It is a test which can measurethe performance of the whole product or parts of the product in different temperature. This test is done in the temperature chamber. Generally, since the chamber will be setto a certain temperature for several hours, even for dozens of hours. During thetemperature test, the inside of the chamber is tight.Gas chromatography system which is our company’s product is the test sample inthe reality test. It is a chemical-analyzed instrument. When it works, it needs gas, including the hydrogen. Hydrogen has risk. It is flammable gas. It can be theexplosion mixture when it mixes with the air and will explode when it meets the fire.So when the gas chromatography system is during the temperature test, if thehydrogen leaks which makes the hydrogen concentration high because of the sealedchamber, the hydrogen may explode.Under this condition, the author designs a system which can measure thehydrogen concentration in the temperature chamber. When the concentration of thehydrogen in the chamber is abnormal, the system will alarmed automatically and cutoff the power and gas of the test unit in the chamber. Now this system is finisheddesigning, assembling, setting, verifying and running in the Agilent Technology(Shanghai) Ltd. It is the running of this system that decreases the risk of thetemperature test when the gas chromatography system is testing. And this system canalso avoid the gas wasting, so that decreases the company’s cost. This article introduces the importance, structure, principle, verification method and the result of this hydrogen safety control system. And some improvementproposal is also in this article.
