| ABS resin is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene, styrene, which had heatresistance and chemical resistance of polyacrylonitrile, cold resistance and highimpact strength of polybutadiene, rigid and molding of polystyrene. Ascomprehensive and excellent general-purpose engineering plastics, ABS was widelyused in the automotive industry, household appliances, office supplies, and so on. Inrecent years, with the rapid development of home appliances and automotiveindustries, the higher performance requirements of ABS resin have been proposed. Tomeet the one-time large-size thin parts injection molding requirements, ABS resinmust have a high melt flow rate and certain impact strength, but it was a contradictionboth melt flow rate and impact strength usually. This thesis was hoped to prepared theEasy Processing ABS Resin use emulsion graft-suspended SAN blend, and variousfactors that affect ABS performance was also studied. According to the preparationprocess, the research work was divided into the following sections:(a) The ABS powder with high rubber graft was prepared through high rubbergraft technology, which caused good compatibility with SAN resin. The reasonableadjustments of amount of initiator, emulsifier, the molecular weight regulator andadding speed of monomer were studied, and good grafting efficiency and aggregatestability were got. The best condition for preparing ABS high rubber graft powder wasalso obtained.(b) The high flow SAN resin was prepared through adding the third monomerand using suspension polymerization process, and the influence of monomer ratio,amount of molecular weight regulator, amount of third monomer, reaction temperatureon its perfomance were studied. A range of different performance SAN resins withhigh melt flow rate were obtained and the suitable resins were selected to prepare theeasy processing of ABS resin.(c) It was studied that mixing the special ABS powder with high rubber graft andcomplex SAN resin, and the influence of amount of self-made SAN resin in comoplexSAN, rubber content, mixing additives, extrusion machine temperature and otherfactors on ABS resin performance were investigated. The prepared formulat and process of easy processed ABS resin were obtained, and verified by amplificationexperiments.As a new product with high added value, easy processing ABS resin could bewidely used in household appliances and automotive industries.The successfuldevelopment of the product can replace the similar foreign products, fill the gaps,solve China’s reliance on imports of such resins, and have good economic and socialbenefits. |
