Glass-ceramic is a new type of inorganic non-metallic materials, widely used in the fields of mechanics, optics, electronics and microelectronics, biomedical and chemical materials. In this thesis, using molten crystallization method, Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2(LAS) system glass-ceramic samples with different nucleating agents are prepared by heattreatingregime. The heattreatingregime of samples is confirmed by using differential scanning calorimetry analysis (DSC). The structure of the samples is determined by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The result shows that the main crystal phase of the samples is β-eucryptite (ss). The scanning electron microscope analysis (SEM) of the microstructure characterization of samples shows that the grain size is between40nm-80nm. Ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectrophotometer is used to determine the light transmittance of samples that the maximum value is up to82%in the near infrared area.Eu3+-doped Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2glass-ceramic is prepared by adding Eu3+into the Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2transparent glass system.By a variety of testing, the results about its properties reveal that Eu3+-doped almost has no effect on its structure, crystal phase, only the optical performance can be attained. The results of samples show the strongest fluorescent emission peak is at614nm.The emission peak is enhanced along with the crystal growth time increases.
