According to UNstatistics, among6billion people in the world, about460million people live in the country and areawhere the water is severely short. One quarter of people live in the country and area where thewater is short.Our country belongs to the country lack of water. Shanxi is especially the province whosewater is greatly deficient. Water deficiency is one of important factors that limit the development ofShan xi economic development. For a long time, Shanxi Province, relying on the superiority of coalresources, forms the pattern of energy heavy industry taking the coal, electricity, coke, metallurgical,and mechanical as main ones. The economic construction is severely unreasonable. More projectsare high energy consumptive and heavily polluted. All cause huge pressure on preventing waterpollution. Besides, the government pays more attention to urban industry and less attention tosustainable development of rural economic. All lead that rural water pollution in Shanxi is more andmore severe. Rural economic development and safety of drinking water are directly affected. As aresult, preventing water pollution is imminent.Starting from present situation of rural water pollution in Shanxi, this essay emphasizes theimportance of water resource to Shanxi, explains the definition of rural water pollution, deeplyanalyzed and summarizes the reason of water pollution and existing law system of preventing waterpollution. What’s more, referring to international law of preventing rural water pollution, the essaytypically studies the deficiency and status of the law of preventing water pollution in Shanxi anddiscusses the importance and necessity of improving the related law system.At last, from the strategic perspective of implementing transformed, leap-forward,sustainable development, it puts forward some measure and law to solve the problem of rural waterpollution.
