Chinese Traditional Plaiting Process In Sofa Design

This article is based on the inheritance and innovation of chinese traditional culture,concerns the current social continuous changes and needs in the meaning of life, toexpand the investigation and analysis about chinese traditional plaiting technics.Regarding the figure of eight knot, the auspicious knot and the Buddha knot in theChinese knot as the main object of study, and the thinking is associated the moderndesign methods with the traditional design concept. The design of practice carrier issofa, it takes the three kinds of knot-shaped as the main prototype to expand thedesign and creation, and completes a new exploration about plaiting method, a newinterpretation about the closing line and a new experience about user self-creation inthe design of sofa with Chinese knot. It provides a reference case to explore the roadof activation about the chinese traditional plaiting technics.
