The need for automobiles increases gradually with the improvement of livinglevel of the public. Therefore, auto-mobile factories maximize the capabilities ofproduction and ameliorate the processing and the measure of pollution prevention andcontrol to meet this frenzied need for motor vehicles. These corporations adopteddeveloped cleaner production and utilized cleaning materials to minimize thesignificance of air pollution. The exhaust pollutants mainly refers to organic waste gases induced through theprocess of painting and drying in paint shop, such as benzene homologues (benzene, xylene), ester, ether, alcohol and ketone. From the aspects of character andquantitative of environmental impacts, unorganized emissions of xylene have beenformulated as the theoretical basis of assessing health protection zone of automobilefilms.<health protection of automobile factory>(GB18075-2000) should be revisedowing to the fact that this elder regulation can not acclimated the need of reasonableselection of location of auto-mobile factories when the divergences between practicalconditions of raw materials, production process and measures of pollution preventingand control and those inferred in this handbook are not obscure. Therefore, the estimation of health protection zone should rely on unorganizedemissions of xylene, and paint shop should be defined as the production unit toadapted the new occasions of production of automobiles. This thesis considered different conditions of materials, production capabilitiesand measures of pollution prevention and control as subject, and studied thetheoretical basis of the identification of unorganized emissions of xylene in paint shop, and identify the utilization of the elements of materials and production capability forassessment of basis of emissions of xylene, and estimate emissions of xylene in paintshops of different scales by analogy. And the variations of health protection zoneswith the different conditions of raw materials, capabilities of production and measuresof pollution control were evaluated according to the method of determining healthprotection zones in “the method of determining emission standards of local air pollutants”(GB/T13201-91).The results showed that there were the ascending orderof health protection zones udder different conditions as follows: dry-type mist traps, natural gas combustion and aquatic type paints; damp-type mist traps, straight rowand aquatic type paints; dry-type mist traps, natural gas combustion and solvent typepaints; and damp-type mist traps, straight row and solvent type paints. The healthprotection zones were offered through the reasonable analysis through comparisonbetween the conclusion of this thesis and the present standards. This thesis canprovides references for the drafting the defense distances of auto-mobile factories.
