CNC technology has not only brought innovation to the traditional manufacturing industry, butalso promoted the rapid development of high-technology industry. High-performance CNC systemshave been widely used in the aviation, aerospace, marine, mold, automobile and so on. At present, domestic economical CNC systems have a significant market share, but high-performance CNCsystems are mainly dependent on foreign imports. Therefore, designing a high-performance embeddedCNC system with independent intellectual property using high-collocation hardware and softwaresystem has important practical significances.A high-performance embedded CNC system is designed and implemented based on OMAP3530in the thesis. TI’s high-performance processor OMAP3530carrying embedded Linux operating systemand DSP/BIOS operating system is adopted to building multi-task, strong real-time environment.600MHz Cortex-A8ARM core and430MHz TMS320C64x+DSP core are integrated on the chip ofOMAP3530microprocessor which has strong control capability and operational performance. Theembedded CNC system supports up to six interpolating axes, two spindles, with the fastest movingspeed of60m/min,2ms interpolation cycle, using embedded soft-PLC module, a NURBS curveinterpolation function and128configurable I/O ports. A NURBS curve interpolation algorithm isproposed based on Milne-Simpson parameter estimates-calibration method according to thecomplicated calculation problem for NURBS curve interpolation, which can avoid the differentialoperation effectively and can guarantee higher interpolation accuracy and speed. It is easy to implementin embedded platform.Through testing, the validity and correctness of the embedded CNC system hardware and softwareplatform developed in this thesis are proved. This thesis is expected to provide reference for thedevelopment of domestic high-performance embedded CNC systems.
