Automatic Methods And Application For Land Use Planning Database Construction

Currently, the social and economic background of land use planning is changing. At one hand, the rapid economic development put forward higher requirements for land-use planning. At another hand, the development of social information have promoted the transformation of land use and management provided a more scientific and efficient techniques for land use planning.Planning database is not only one of the most important achievements of land use planning, but a vital approach to implement information-based management of land resources. The process of the database is so complicated that traditional methods cannot meet the development of information society and the dynamic management of planning. The improvement of land use standard and the development of technology have provided an opportunity to realize standardization, information and automation of construction of the database. On account of cost and function, the paper developed a program based on ArcObjects and Microsoft DOTNET.The research has made some achievements following:1. Putting forward a proposal to find out automated method of construction of land use planning database and defining the content and applicable scope.2. Analyzing the procedure of land use database process, constructing and implement the functions of an automated database process system prototype.3. Applying automated methods to construction of database of Chongqing province. The result showed that more than80percent of time of data process has been saved and the quality of data is improved.It has been found that normative and automated construction of database will not only improve the quality but the efficient of the land use planning database. The software developed based on GIS and database standard has freed the people who used to cost much time on data processing. In future, it is necessary to consider all kinds of automatic functions to construct land resources management system based on Ubiquitous Network. Database is a pivotal part of land resources management, which provides a good reason to search for approaches of automated database management.
