The Beijing Raptor Rescue Center was established in2001, which is a jointproject of Beijing Normal University and IFAW, and the first non-profit wildliferescue and rehabilitation facility of its kind in China. Since it opened, a largenumber of injured and confiscated raptors have been received for rescue. Mostof birds released back to the field, however, some died unfortunately andautopsied for parasites.Nine spirurid species belong to six genera, six families were collected andherein described:1species of Physaloptera (Physalopteridae);1species ofParaspiralatus (Spirocercidae);3species of Procyrnea (Habronematidae);2species of Synhimantus (Dispharynx)(Acuariidae);1species of Aprocta(Aproctidae);1species of Hamatospiculum (Diplotriaenidae). Among them, three species are new species: Procyrnea beveridgei sp. nov. was collectedunder the lining of the gizzard in Butastur indicus (Gmelin), Accipiter nisus(Linnaeus) and Buteo buteo Linnaeus, Procyrnea sinica sp. nov. was collectedunder the lining of the gizzaed in Asio otus (Linnaeus) and Athene noctua(Scopoli) and Paraspiralatus beijingensis sp. nov. was collected from thestomach in Bubo bubo (Linnaeus); one species is first record from China:Aprocta noctuae Spaul,1927was collected from body cavity in Otus scops(Linnaeus); five species are known species in China: Physaloptera alata alataRudolphi,1819was collected from the buccal cavity, crop, glandular stomach and muscular stomch in Accipiter virgatus (Temminck), P. excisiformis(Yamaguti,1935) was collected under the lining of the gizzard in Asio otus(Linnaeus), Synhimantus (Dispharynx) oti Zhang, Liu and Song,2005wascollected from the buccal cavity and esophagus in Asio otus (Linnaeus),Synhimantus (Dispharynx) noctuae uzbekistanica (Sultanov,1950) was collectedfrom the buccal cavity in Athene noctua (Scopoli), and Hamatospiculumcylindricum (Zeder,1803) Hartwich,1954was collected from Velpeau’s fasciain Accipiter virgatus (Temminck) and from the buccal cavity in Bubo bubo(Linnaeus). In present study,281species of parasitic nematodes from birds in Chinabelong to70genera,27families,5orders are listed. This list was completedmainly based on the information provided by taxonomic literatures in China.
