With the abuse and the loss of traditional energy sources, people payclosed attention to a growing number of saving and environmentalprotection new energy. As the use of solar energy for green energyattracted more attention and study, but, because of the power generationefficiency of the currently material is relatively low, to seek a newerand better electricity generation will play a crucial role in thedevelopment of materials for photovoltaic power generation industry, thequantum dots material just to meet these conditions. Not only made a hugecontribution to the field of optical electricity generation, due to thediversity of the characteristics of quantum dots, also have a wide rangeof applications in all aspects of the biological sciences, andoptoelectronic devices.Quantum dots, also known as nanocrystals, quasi-zero-dimensionalnanomaterials composed by a small number of atoms. The quantum dot is asemiconductor nano-structure, which bound the excitons, the valence bandholes and conduction band electrons in the three spatial directions. Thethree dimensions of the quantum dot size in less than100nm, theappearance of looking like a very small punctatematter, the internal electronics and restricted movement in all directions, so the quantumconfinement effect is particularly significant. This paper describes the main properties of the quantum dots, the mainpreparation methods and the research status in all fields and so on. Doa brief introduction of the experimental apparatus, experimentalmaterials, experimental methods. Test and analyze the experimentalproduct by using such as UV-visible spectrophotometer, the light-inducedluminescence spectrometer instruments ets.In the TEM image of ZCIS nanocrystals, it can be seen that the particlediscrete well, and the average particle diameter is about3.5nm.Differentsizes of CuInS2quantum dots were tested in the experiments, found thatthe blue shift of the absorption spectra and photoluminescence spectra, this result is consistent with the theoretical: with the nanocrystallineparticle size decreases, the absorption spectra and photoluminescencespectra to the short wavelength direction moving. And then analysis thorough the UV-visible absorption spectroscopyand X-ray diffraction spectra, also studied the different ratio of theraw materials in the solution impact on the optical properties, thecorrelation between the band gap energy and particle size. Finally, byadding new substances Ga to the solution to study the new nanocrystal composition to effect of its optical performance.
