Among the geological survey work on computer, project cutting is one ofthe commonly used functions,and the frame is used as the crop box.However,existing programs don’t support the frame used directly as the crop box. So theproblem has become the subject of this article.This article against the shortage of engineering cutting and inefficientusage,describes method of automatic frame cutting based on MAPGIS.Thedescription according to redevelopment mode provide by MAPGIS, extendedCGisView class and CGisEditView class with VC++development tool.This article focuses on the background and the results of the development of thesubject. First, from the background of the topic cut into the account of the researchsignificance as well as domestic and foreign research status and research ideas; Thenintroduces MAPGIS6.7its secondary development. It also introduced the subjectdevelopment tools; Focuses on the way to achieve automatic cropping function andthe content and details. Finally, make a summary of the results of research and of theoutlook.The frame cutting basic functions completed,after intense series of developmentsteps of the design, coding, debugging, testing, etc. This function makes the framegeneration and cutting at the same time. Compared with the the MAPGIS originalclipping function, This feature simplifies operational processes, improvesoperational efficiency, and achieves the goal of this project was originally designed.
