With the development of the social modernization in the northeast ofChina,because of the special of northeast area and the importance of the northeastarea’s border defense,this given northeast area importance significance of the aspect inthe military,border defense,society,people’s livelihood and national safety. With thecombined effect of this factor and the particular historical background and conditionsof the times from the end of Qing Dynasty to the begin of Minguo,gives birth to thenortheast surveying and mapping school.The three northeastern provinces armysurveying and mapping school not only inherited the surveying and mappingtechnology in ancient China, and introducing the modern western surveying andmapping technology, professor of surveying and mapping in the modernmethods,also,it become a modern education center of northeast of surveying andmapping and talent training center.At the same time,this school train many militarygenerals and professional mapping talented person for the northeast army and nationalarmy,what’s more,it is the sign of the beginning of the modernization of thenortheast’s military.This article prepared from the establish backgrounds of surveying and mappingschool and historical conditions to describe the educational status of the school,in turnto reflect the important significance of the northeast surveying and mapping school’sperformance in terms of military, people’s livelihood, society and the national safety.
