Because of its unique geographical and geological environment, various geologicaldisasters extremely developed in the Loess Plateau, and the soil erosion is serious, thesebecome the major issues of hindering economy development. The paper researchs on Yan’anregion, where located in the hinderland of the Loess Plateau and the middle reach of theHuanghe River, studying the correlation between the soil erosion and geological disasters ofthis area through the statistical analysis and GIS graphic overlay analysis technology on thebasis of the analysis and reference of predecessors’ achievements. The research work focusedon of the following aspects(1)Working out the basic characteristics of various geological disasters (collapse,landslides and unstable slopes)development and the basic rules of regional distribution andspace distribution by statistical analysis on the basis of the project achievement of "Shaanxiprovince Yan’an region geological disaster detailed investigation",which finished by ChinaGeological Survey Xi’an Geology Survey Center.(2)To research the general features and rules of the soil erosion in Yan’an region, weanalyzed the tectonic evolution since the quaternary and process, working out that the tectonicevolution has a decisive impact on both the modern morphological formation and the Loesserosion. We classified the soil erosion intensity of the area on the basis of analyzing the basiccondition of soil erosion of the Losses Plateau, and compared it with the Yan’an region’sgeomorphic types, arriving at that the geomorphic type has effect on the space diversity oferosion intensity in a certain degree.(3)To study the correlation between the soil erosion and geological disasters of theYan’an region, we researched on the soil erosion types and features and analyzed factors thatwould make effect on the soil erosion, coming out that influencing factors have a consistenteffect trend on the soil erosion and the geological disaster; the soil erosion types have rules ofvertical zoning in space and have certain effect on the space distribution of geologicaldisasters. And we coming out that the geological disasters are inheritance and associated oferosion form in the process of soil erosion by comparing various erosion form of siol erosionin the microscopic development and the development of geological disasters. Again weanalyzed the soil erosion intensity and geological disasters distribution relationship in macroarea coming out that the two have certain relevance, In a certain area scale, approximately wecan use the soil erosion intensity to represent the growing degree of the geological disasters.The above research achievement can be used as the reference of regional soil and water conservation and prevention of geological disasters.
