Using GPS for attitude measurement is a new attitude measurement method, it is not onlylow cost, but also its measurement error does not accumulate over time. By rationalarrangement of the antenna, which installed on the carrier, Real-time attitude determinationcan be derived from extremely precise differential carrier phase measurements.Focusing onthis theme, this paper study the GPS attitude measurement theory and algorithms in depth,and a new program of measuring is invented. According this method, a GPS attitudedetermination system is realized.In this paper, the GPS system composition, GPS signal structure and the carrier phasetechnology is introduced first. Secondly, all kinds of coordinate system and the relationshipbetween them which are used in GPS attitude measuring system are particular introduced. Onthis base, the concept of GPS attitude measuring system is recommended, and the commonlyused methods to determine the attitude angle are also be analyzed. In the stage of attitudedetermination with carder phase, integer ambiguity resolution is the key skill here. Throughstudying algorithm of integer ambiguity, contrasting and analyzing the popular algorithm,there are many constraints we can use in integer ambiguity resolution when the base line isshort. In this paper, a resolution which can quickly solve the problem of integer ambiguity arecome up, this method can quickly solve the problem of integer ambiguity in single frequencyand single epoch. In order to improve reliability of attitude determination, a pyramidalgorithm based on attitude constraints is presented.At last a GPS attitude determination system is completed. The hardware of this system isSUPERSTAR II OEM, and the system software is wrote with MATLAB, which canaccomplish the task of data acquisition and processing, real-time calculate the attitude angleand display the result. Some experiments are performed to prove that the method of determinethe attitude angle is right. The reasons behind some problems and errors are suggestedthrough careful investigations and potential solutions are proposed to further enhance theattitude determination system.
