China is one of the frequent geological disaster countries, these geological disasters have many different types which widely distributed and high-impact and cause serious damage. With the accelerating of the use of global resources, the impact of human economic engineering activity on the natural environment is more and more intense, the construction of hydropower is one of the most outstanding performance. The purpose of evaluation of geological disaster of land for construction are to predict and deal with geological disaster,reduce its losses.protect people’s life and properties and maintain socialistic modern successful construction.Without specification and theory available to practice, especially for the construction of land with large area,different types, complex origin and mechanism of disaster, so currently used technical routes, methods of study are developed at the primary stage.Hujiaqiao hydropower station is a small station whose installed capacity is smaller than10MW,on the basis of the fully collecting and using the predecessor’s information,this paper studies the main environmental geological problems caused by internal power,external power and human engineering movements,as well as systematically discusses its growth characteristic,produced mechanism,seriousness,influential factor and the developing trend in future,the supplies foundation of geological environmental protection with research region.Firstly, combining the engineering geological survey results of Hujiaqiao hydropower station’s reservoir, the paper based on the natural geological conditions of the reservoir conduct the situation assessment on Landslide, unstable slopes, bank collapse, collapse and other geological disasters of the library dam,and then provide the basis for the conduct of pre-assessment and understand the possible hazards and consequences. Secondly, based on the current situation evaluation of Hujiaqiao hydropower station, the assessment of geological disaster prediction is conducted. According to the nature and scale of the works to road construction, dam construction, plant construction and spoil pile based, the paper summarize the adverse geological problem in the construction process that may induce or exacerbate the geological disasters. These problems include the formation of high slope landslides, avalanches in the road excavation and the slope stability of spoil dumps and other issues. And then make the risk prediction of the type, size and distribution of geological disasters which may happen during the operation of the Hujiaqiao hydropower station.Lastly, based on the geological environment of the proposed site, the type of geological disasters, the previous status assessment and the prediction assessment results, according to geological hazard classification standard, the paper mainly adopts qualitative and semi-quantitative method to take a comprehensive assessment of the risk and the harmful degree of geological disasters and make reasonable and feasible control measures.
