Land Data Assimilation System has been developed rapidly based on the absorption of the technique of atmospheric data assimilation and ocean data assimilation. Land Data Assimilation has become one of the hot spots and leading edge in the research on land surface processes, meteorological and hydrological The main features of the input and output data of Soil Moisture Assimilation are the diversity, massiveness in format. How to establish a visualized platform so as to visualize the elemental variables for variety format data richly, as well as mining the deeper level information from the massive data are the major issues faced by the application and sharing of scientific data currently.Based on the development platform of Visual Studio2008, C#, IDL programming language, and ArcGIS Engine9.3, the Comprehensive Analysis and Processing System for Soil Moisture Assimilation data has been studied and developed by use of ArcSDE as spatial database engine and SQL Server2005database as management tools. It possesses powerful capabilities for data mapping and visualization, realizes the data comprehensive management and analysis. Moreover, the system not only can complete the data professional processing and analysis for the Assimilation data, but also can complete the GIS spatial analysis and statistics in the one system environment due to integration of professional data processing and analysis tools with the GIS environment. Therefore The system can satisfy the demands of data processing and analysis for the Land Data Assimilation system and provide a powerful support to business applications of the soil moisture assimilation products. The main research results are as follows:1. Through the study of the NetCDF storage structure of scientific data and multidimensional data, the NetCDF storage model of weather data and the multidimensional NetCDF data model for GIS-based soil moisture data have been build. Meteorological data With the attributes of time domain, spatial and attribute domains were integrated with the GIS data model. It provides a new way for the analysing meteorological data by GIS and the imputing the massive weather data into GIS.2. The spatial database of soil moisture assimilation data were set up after research on the processing and expression of the atmospheric forcing data, land surface parameters and observational data. The integration management for spatial data and attribute data improves the efficiency of data retrieval and ensure the consistency and integrity of space data with attribute data. it meets the requirements of the land surface assimilation system to quickly acesss through data storage, management, statistics and inquiry.3. Based on the components of GIS, Remote Sensing platform, spatial databases, C#,and IDL hybrid programming technology, the overall design and information integration solutions of the Comprehensive Analysis and Processing System for Soil Moisture Assimilation data were proposed According to the demands for assimilation systems research and application of GIS functionality, multi-source data warehousing and subsystem integration.4. The system can complete the professional processing and analysis of remotely sensed data, take advantage of powerful GIS spatial analysis, and meet the assimilation system for data processing and analysis demand in the same system by integrating the data processing and analysis tools into the GIS system environment. It realizes the data comprehensive management and analysis, validates the soil moisture products and analyses its affect factors and the law in spatial and temporal distribution.
