China is already a big chemical country, with a number of basic chemical products' production capacity ranking first in the world. But the whole industry, particularly for chlor-alkali chemical industry, also faces enormous challenges:low energy efficiency, bad industry concentration and limited innovation ability etc. How to further accelerate the adjustment of industrial structure, ameliorate equipment and make technology innovation, improving the energy utilization rate, producing more higher value-added products, and changing the industry concentration has become an inevitable trend for the development of basic chemical industry, and a direction for those chemical companies'reformation and development.To be faced with the small profit in chlor-alkali industry, although LD company, as an important member of the Provincial Salt Chemical (Zhangshu) base, has withstood the great influence of financial crisis, the shortcomings of development of small and medium-sized enterprises is more and more clear. How can it foothold and gradually grow in the increasingly fierce industry competition, is to be studied and discussed in the following dissertation.This paper, using the SWOT analysis tool, analyzes the LD company's internal and external environment. With the theory of competition strategy, it flexible assembles and uses multiple segmentation strategies, formulating an practical and strategic planning which accords with the current situation of LD company, in order to achieve the target-create alliances with well-developed enterprises, pay close attention to raw materials and sales added with efficient professional production, develop its recycling economy, products'R&D has its own characteristic, insist on "Humane Chemical Industry" and "Green Chemical Industry", seize opportunity for industry groups, and make it top in Jiangxi chlor-alkali chemical enterprises. Not only does this paper provide some suggestive methods for other small and medium-sized chemical enterprises, but also it provides reference for other chemical enterprises' development in the Poyang Lake Economic Development Zone (chlor-alkali industry base).
