With the increasingly fierce competitive situation of the furnitureindustry, the reduction of the materials cost has become one of the mostimportant sources increasingly in the enterprises' competitive advantages. As animportant part of production management, materials' management has itsimportant theoretical and practical significance to the enhancement of thecompetitive abilities of enterprises. According to the study of productionmanagement before, taking the cost management perspective for examples, itconcentrates on how to promote lower production costs by reducing redundantlinks or labor costs. Even if it concerns about the materials management, it onlyfocuses on the certain aspects of materials management, such as coding, materialsuppliers, and inventory management. In fact, from the system theory point ofview, materials management is a systematic project-----it not only regulates themanagement from the material itself, but also manages the material supplierseffectively in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of materialsmanagement and lay a solid foundation for improving the competitiveness ofenterprises. Based on the above understanding and literature research andanalysis, using the relevant theoretical knowledge of management, operationsand statistics, this thesis uses a combination of theoretical and empirical researchmethods to think about material management, suppliers' management andprocesses systems. The data are collected through field visits and questionnairesand so on. The results prove that material management system's influencefactors determine the models.
