The Existing Problems Of Land Consolidation In Zhangqiu City

Great attention has been drawn to population, resources, and environmental problems in global development. Since the 1990s, the Chinese economy has entered a period of rapid development. But this rapid development is also accompanied by a fast growing population and shrinking arable land. In order to tackle this huge challenge and the possible grain-shortage crisis in the future, land consolidation came into being to optimize land usage, improve production and ecological environment so as to increase the productivity of land. In this paper, the status quo practice of land consolidation in Zhangqiu City from 2001 to 2010 was analyzed, existing problems such as insufficient land consolidation planning and designing,lack of public participation, improper supervision were identified in the land consolidation practice in Zhangqiu, countermeasures and suggestion were given based on the land consolidation practice both home and abroad. In order to achieve a sound and fast development of land consolidation in Zhangqiu, It is essential to further improve its law and regulations, promote public participation in land consolidation, it is also important to pay more attention to land consolidation planning and data acquisition, professional training for technicians, land consolidation supervision, and environmental and ecological protection.
