China has been implementing a high degree of monopoly in the domestic tobacco monopoly system which offered a large number of financial support for the development of china, however, as world economic globalization and China ratification in WTO and FCTC, Chinese tobacco companies are now under the risks of being involved in international competition and bearing the pressure to control the development of domestic tobacco. Tobacco internationalization is urgent need for Chinese tobacco companies. Yunnan Tobacco industry CO., Ltd, Chinese Tobacco industry leader, will inevitably need to make a difference in the international market.Iran's cigarette market is the priority in the selection markets of Yunnan tobacco industry CO., Ltd, however, Yunnan tobacco industry CO., Ltd have nothing in this market currently. how to compete in the Iranian market? How to enter? How to choose the brand, product, price, channels and promotion strategies are all now serious problems to be settled down.In this paper, firstly, a model system of PEST is used to analyze Iran's domestic cigarette market macro environment, which to understand the opportunities and challenges at Iran's macro level; secondly, based on the research of general situation of Iranian cigarette industry and competitors and through Five Forces Model analysis we can understand the attributes an overall framework of the industry, then, divide Iran competitors into different strategy group and analyze it, we can figure out the detail structure of this industry; thirdly by ROIC DuPont, cost and other related data analysis and comparison between the large multinational tobacco companies and Yunnan tobacco industry CO., Ltd, we can find out the advantages and disadvantages on resources and ability of Yunnan tobacco industry CO., Ltd, discover the core competitiveness too; lastly, through analysis of the three basic competitive strategies (cost leadership, differentiation, centralization) by SWOT, we make the basic competitive strategy selection and market entry strategy choice, then, through the basic strategy and the choice of market entry strategies, we determine the company's brand, products, price, channel, promotion of competitive strategy combination.This article is a competitive strategy research about a specific company in a particular market, mainly focused on the application level of competitive strategies. I hopes a good start for Yunnan tobacco industry CO., Ltd in Iran tobacco market through my research.
