The retail trade is an important industry of the national economy through reform and opening up, the department of more than 30 years hardships ablution, China has achieved great development in retailing, profound changes have occurred. In the modern market economy conditions, retail development directly related to the national economy can normal operation. Thus retail competition becomes an important problem of the subject, the retail trade has become the foundation of the national economy and the dominant industry, social production has decided to flow through the production, the decision. Retail sales as circulation industry bibcock, guide to produce more apparent. Therefore, it is necessary for us to do the competitiveness of China's retail industry, analyses why in WTO of China's retail industry why not as many people expected fared no better, namely the Chinese retail competition? And in the future, how to cultivate the sustainable development.Based on the core competitiveness of our country's retail trade, first from the first part of this paper introduces the purpose, significance and related research situation, this research method and idea. The second part of the sources of industrial competitiveness, reviews the general theory, and then according to relevant industrial competitiveness, combined with the definition of retail industry characteristics, defines the concept of competitive retail, and expounds the connotation of the concept, namely retail competition is refers to a region of the retail characteristic value creation ability and gather riches, and constructs the retail competition ability of the model. The third part is mainly based on the model, combining research retail competitive retail competition, retail competitiveness evaluation index system. The fourth part using principal component analysis to the competitiveness of our country's retail trade on the empirical research, and to foreign retail related indexes for the average standard of index, and a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages, found. The fifth part is mainly based on comparison and analysis of the relevant countermeasures and Suggestions.
