In China, international trade in travel is a significant component of trade in services and plays an essential role in balance of payments. On one hand, the surplus in international tourism service trade can make up the deficit which exists in service trade. On the other hand, it will also be the stimulation of Tourism economy. However, many deficiencies still stand in the development of trade in tourism services; actually, a deficit status in the last two years seems to be the strongest evidence. This paper analyzes the description of the status of trade in tourism services, size and the impact factors of tourism services in China's international competitiveness in trade, and the way to enhance the international competitiveness of trade in tourism services is proposed.Firstly, this paper analyses the development status of the world's trade in tourism services through the import and export of tourism trade in services in the World Tour top 15 countries and the tourist arrivals in all regions of the world. By then, this article also focus on the scale of China's tourism trade in services , the pace of development and inbound tourism status in order to analyze the characteristics of tourism trade in service.Secondly, while comparing China's market share, TC index, RCA index, CA index in tourism trade with other 10 trade powers, we can see that TC, RCA, CA indexes show a downward trend; even RCA, CA index indicates that international trade in travel of China is with relatively competitive disadvantage. As a matter of fact, international competitiveness of China in tourism trade is showing a weakening trend.In addition, analysis on international competitiveness of tourism trade in services will demonstrate how to enhance international competitiveness. As the international competitiveness of trade in tourism services can be quantified, this paper chooses Porter's diamond model as the theoretical basis to select international competitiveness of trade in tourism services factors, such as factors of travel production, demand of domestic tourism, related and supporting industries and strategy, structure and competitiveness of tourism services corporations; and then according to the C-D function as the mathematical model, from the empirical study of ADF test and co-integration test on the factors which influence China's competitiveness of trade in travel, we find that human capital, domestic demand for tourism trade don't have significant effect on trade in travel while the number of travel agencies and transport have the significant effects. According to the factors, the paper can advise the way how to improve the international competitiveness of tourism trade in service.At last, this article gives some suggestions to overcome the barriers for tourism trade in service.
