Recently, along with national commercial banks finishing their IPO processes, it stands for that these banks have been improving their company governance structures, achieving the requirements of Basel Treaty on bank's Capital Adequacy Ratio and risk allocation covering risk assets. However, they are just the requirements of market to banks. Commercial banks, as one type of financial institutes, expose to market risks, credit risks and management risks by themselves. The author, as one of the branch manager for a long period, believes that management risks, especially operational risks of counter service, will affect extremely the survival and development of commercial banks after they have finished their IPO processes. Specifically, if any commercial bank lost its control on its operational risk of counter service, it will suffer the loss on its reputation, profits and further development. This article aims to discuss and analyze the sources and reasons of operational risks, and offers some targeted suggestions based on author's management experiences.
