Investment Bank is a high-yield and high-risk industry, provides personalized, diversified products and services and a full range of investment and financing business for Corporations and individuals in the modern capital markets, plays a huge role in the development of capital market and financial system. Domestic and international commercial banks committed to expanding the investment banking currently. The western countries with a sound financial regulatory system, apply an universal banking model that commercial banks can engaged in investment banking, in which the United States, Britain and Germany mixed model are all successful, allowing commercial banks to expand investment banking has enjoyed very significant results.Because of our mixed system of risk management and regulatory shortcomings in the past, now we allow commercial banks to engage in investment banking and implement separate operation mode. Investment banking business help to expand commercial banks to enhance competitiveness and profitability, but the investment banking itself are also hs many risks, including systematic risk and non-systematic risk.Therefore, when we carry out investment banking business, we should strengthen banks own risk management, and the government regulatory agencies should fully play its regulatory responsibilities.This paper examines the feasibility of investment banking that the South Street branch of Construction Bank carrys out, and studys the theoretical analysis methods. According to the South Street Branch on the obtained data management and investment banking business data, analyzes its investment banking presence on the advantages and problems that have internal and external factors.
