Study On Cross-country Risk Management Of FD APAC IT Infrastructure Department

As international cooperation and IT out-sourcing is popular in current world, cross-country risk management of IT project and IT service is a crucial component of a modern company, especially for a software company. Some questions are concerned and worried like how long it will be completed? How many resources in different country will be involved in? How about the cooperation and quality control? However, how to do the cross-country risk management is most important thing of them because it is to make sure that the service or project is in high quality and quantity to be delivered according to the timetable.IT Infrastructure Department of FD APAC is a cross-country team which is consisted of several local teams in a few different country or cities. They are providing 24×7 continuous services for IT infrastructure support to the operations of FD APAC. The employee in different countries are always involved to work together to accomplish one project. Maybe they are working for a few projects at the same time. They need to communicate each other by email, instant messaging tools, audio conference or video conference.The part first the industry background of FD APAC company and the situations which IT Infrastructure team are facing to are introduced, also including the latest study of Risk management and Project management in the world and the structure of the paper. In second part, I explain the basic theories and methods of risk management and its application in project management activities. In the third part, I go through the activities of IT Infrastructure department and have a further analysis in details for the activities which are mainly focus on project management, team re-organization and cross-culture management. In the forth part, I apply for the methods of theories of risk management into the projects and services of IT Infrastructure department to identify and evaluate the risks based on the analysis on the three activities. At last, I describe the methods to prevent or take a precaution way for the cross-country factors.In this paper some methods of the theory of risk management like Delphi method and diagram analysis are introduced and applied for to avoid the cross-country risks of IT Infrastructure department of FD APAC Company.This paper firstly studies on internal activities of IT Infrastructure department based on the theories and methods of risk management, addresses importance of completion of the process and regulation, explains how to identify and prevent potential risk. This paper has a research on the management method of FD APAC Company. And it is also recommendations to other companies and teams for their management job of cross-country risks and activities.
