Abstract/Summary:
As the progressing technology and the changing external environment, products are more complex and intelligent than before which only provide limited capability. As Deng Xiaoping said that science and technology are primary productive forces, science and technology has been playing an important role in the development of society. With the development of social productivity, the existing products are more and more complex and integrated. There are more and more information added to the product. The process management dimensions and difficulty in the process of product development are increasing rapidly. Therefore it requires the establishment of system-level control platform to meet the requirements of modern project management.This paper describes the basic principle of PDM, analyzes the characteristics of the system, and its application both abroad and domestic use, particularly in the field of aeroengine industry. In this paper, the 614 institute is an object of study, after a detailed investigation by importing management philosophy performing external research and internal interviews and other methods ways, questions are proposed during the application of product data management system. First, project management is performed by man with single board computer, resulting extensive and scattering plan; difficult in inspection, poor real time responsibility and poor control, therefore the completion rates is very low. Second, product structure is passed through paper-list, and the data can not be shared, resulting in duplication of data entry. This leads to human resources consumption and accuracy and integrity of data can not be guaranteed. Third, the Engineering changing process are undertaken by manual and should be changed at multiple site repeatedly. There is a difference between the electronic version and the archive version. It is very hard to control the version status. Fourth, unconstrained component selection, an unconnected product design data and procurement data, causing a short procurement cycle, small number of components but rich in varieties. It is difficult to achieve effective management and rapid acquisition.In response to these problems, after extensive and intensive investigation we select Windchill9.0 product data management system made by PTC as our collaborative product development platform. The work team has already finished several tasks:standardize the product R&D process by applying R&D process management specification; standardize the changing of engineering data by engineering changing process specification; increase R&D speed and reduce repeatability by concurrent engineering and collaborative R&D; realize product model-based data share system by product structure configuration management. Finally, the paper describes the effect of product date management on working mode, method.The implementation of product data management system is not only a system engineering project but also a revolutionary project which reinforces the business base of an enterprise. This system will promote and facilitate the standardization of enterprise management, enhance research and development management and control capabilities, and improve working efficiency. In this paper, it describes process of our institute in applying PDM systems, in order to provide an example to others.
