Mountains Of Yunnan County Land Use Suitability Evaluation

Land suitability evaluation is to the specific way of land use, evaluating land elements whether appropriate this land use way and appropriate degree. Through land suitability assessment, we can get appropriate degree of regional land resource for the different way of land use which can provide some beneficial references to the relevant authority about regulating regional land use structure and the planning layout, reasonable allocating and using limited land resource.This article set MengLian county as the study area which is a typical mountainous area, evaluated suitability of MengLian's land resources which contains cultivated land, garden land and wood-land. through the analysis selected 50 x 50 grid as evaluation unit; According to the principle of selecting contestant factor, used Delphi method and combined with the specific circumstances of the study area, established suitable evaluation index system based on the different ways of land use; under the support of the GIS, set up the land suitability assessment spatial database of the study area, based on the powerful data processing and spatial analysis function of GIS by geographic information system, got the project layer of single factor assessment of the study area;Used analytic hierarchy process obtained weights of eligible factor; by using the weighted sum method to evaluate comprehensive suitability of land use way which contains cultivated land, garden land and wood-land, got their respective levels of quantity and space distribution. Combined the technology of GIS and mathematics model and using it to the Land suitability assessment, summarized a set of land suitability assessment method which is suitable for Yunnan mountainous county.Through analysis the result of evaluation the article can get below conclusions:(1) Highly appropriate area of cultivated land, garden land and wood-land mainly distributed at Mengma town and Nayun town where are relatively flat with plenty of water, traffic developed. Moderate appropriate area of garden land and wood-land widely distributed on west and east which elevation relatively low; Unsuitable appropriate area of cultivated land, garden land and wood-land mainly distributed in north-central and south-central where elevation is high, topography is too steep, transportation and water conditions is poor.(2) Combined with the current land use distribution situation, suitable area achieved 98.19% in the existing cultivated land resources, unsuitable area accounts for only 1.81%; 99.5% Garden land is appropriate area, only 0.5% land needed adjusted; The existing forest land resources are appropriate. So in general, current land use of MengLian county is reasonable basically.Through the analysis shows that, by using the method of GIS technology and evaluation model, we can rapidly and effectively evaluate the suitability of Yunnan province mountainous land. The evaluation results have important reference value to the land use decision makers to optimize regional land resources management and adjust land structure.
