Research On Industry Integration In Pearl River Delta And The Other Three Peripheral Area Of Guangdong Province

Although Guangdong is one of the economic developed areas, the economic development gap of four regions is enormous. In order to improve the unbalanced situation, Guangdong carries a series of policies and measures to promote industrial integration between the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas, who through industry transformation to promote the regional harmonious development. Based on the industry data, this paper utilize the location quotient to reveal the industrial integration between the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas, and analyze the affected factors .All that can provide some suggestions to improve the industrial integration polices.Firstly, based on previous researches at home and aboard, the author analyzes the development trend and questions of the industrial integration, which can provide theoretical support.Secondly, analyze the economic and industrial development of the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas, and calculate the location quotient of different industries of four regions that can find out the professional levels.Thirdly, according the location quotient and output to choose seven industries, take correlation coefficients to measure the industrial integration between the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas, and the results show that the highest degree of the industrial integration is the Pearl River Delta and Western wing, and the next is the Pearl River Delta and Eastern wing as well as the low degree is the Pearl River Delta and Mountain Areas.Fourthly, analyze the affected factors of industrial integration between the Pearl River Delta and surrounding areas, including infrastructural facilities, industrial foundation, human capital, policy factors and so on. The results show that the affected factors are difference among Western wing, Eastern wing and Mountain areas, which affect the various degrees of industrial integration.Finally, take industry geographic concentration index and spatial autocorrelation to analyze industrial spatial agglomeration characteristics which based on the regional industrial integration. The results show that concentration and dispersion are carried out at the same time and concentration of industries are less than the dispersion ones, but the variations of concentration are greater than the dispersion ones. Four of the seven industries chosen from the location quotient and output to choose which are diffusion and the other three are concentration.
