The Study On Urban Migrant Workers' Desire In Human Capital Investment

After the reform and open policy, our rural area executed the household contract responsibility system, the recessive surplus rural labor began to dominant. Farmers liberated from the land and began to work in the city, migrant workers appeared gradually. Migrant worker is a special group which appears in the process of Chinese social economic development. Their social identity is peasant; but their profession is worker. They contribute significantly to the Chinese construction of industrialization and urbanization. In real life, however, treated inequitable on some aspects, such as labor compensation, employment system, medical and health, safety in production, social security and human dignity, they become the social vulnerable groups, which has been pay close attention by society.Migrant workers are in weak position mainly because of the lack of human capital investment and knowledge. If this situation can not improved efficiently, it will become the important restricted factors which country labor force migrate to city, and will surely restrict the process of Chinese urbanization and economic development. Therefore, the government should increase investment to migrant workers' human capital. However, the key to solve the problem is to research how to improve the level of migrant workers' human capital.Based on the participation desire on the human capital investment of migrant workers in Nanjing, we did the econometric analysis on the human capital investment of migrant workers by issuing, recycling and arranging relevant questionnaire and statistics of questionnaire content. There are four parts of analyzing the human capital investment of rural migrant workers in Nanjing:education investment situation, science and technology investment situation, social insurance investment situation and labor migration situation. The results showed that the four situation of the human capital investment basis of Nanjing migrant workers is good, but still needed to develop. In reference on the basis of existing research results, this paper is going to use the logistic model of econometric analysis to research human capital investment intentions of Nanjing urban migration workers, comparing and analyzing each factor in the human capital investment in terms of participation desire and influences. Wondering the study could analyze the specific conditions and the factors in the human capital investment desire.The research results show that there is the gap between the current situation and the expectations of human capital investment of migrant workers. There are seven influence factors in the human capital investment intentions, age, educational level, health, marital status, monthly income, acknowledge and cost of the human capital investment level assessment for migrant workers. In view of the above conclusions, the paper finally puts some policy recommendations forward improvement of human capital investment desire.
