If the technical level of the workers, the facilities of the company, the production tasks, etc. are all in the same condition, then the survival and the continuous development of the shipyard and the economic results are decided by the rules and directions of the management in the great extent. Nowadays, many shipyards are looking for the reform that is the pattern from extensive management changing to intensive management, it is a very important issue that studying the delicacy management in order to realize the lean production. Each yard has defects on its current management system, but all of them want to realize the same target—lean production that means productions load matching with the labor, production executing continuous according to the business target of the company, the middle cost is controlled at the lowest level, productions are delivered to the owners on time or earlier, the economic benefit is on the top level.This paper has collected the results of many fields in the world which have practicing the delicacy management, especially, this paper focus on the delicacy management applying in the shipyard, then we can find that it is good for shipyard to decrease the production cost, increase the production efficiency during practicing the delicacy management, and it is not necessary to invest so much money, so I think it is on time to carry out delicacy management in our shipyard.Because the content of the paper and the experience limit myself, I did not study all the aspects of the shipbuilding management. This paper majors in four aspects:design management, production building management, quality management, insurance management. The methods of the study are trying to find the common management defects in the most of the shipyards, utilizing my shipbuilding experience for ten years, referring to advanced management from many good company in the world, the looking forward carrying out ideas of the delicacy management, I hope these ideas can help many native shipyards to raise the management level, and realize the lean production earlier.
