Optimizing Research On Y Company's Steel-inventory Management

In our country's steel market field of circulation, nearly 60 percent steel products are sold by steel distributors. Steel distributors play a great important role in steel field of circulation. The sale model of steel decides steel inventory, which holds a large sum of circulating fund of steel products distribution enterprises. The level of inventory management directly affects the profits and core competition of steel products distribution enterprises.Y Company is a large-scale steel products distribution enterprise in Yunnan and its business develops more and more quickly. However, its inventory management still stays at the original stage of experience management. So, the company is facing more and more questions about inventory management. As the confusion of its inventory management, the working capitals always face a shortage. In another way, the profits of steel products are lower and lower, the ratio of products and labors cost occupy the most part in total cost, which leads to low profits. The company hopes to seek for new profits by improving the pattern of inventory management.After reading a lot of thesis on inventory management, this paper analyzes the Y Company's problem of inventory management on two aspect. Firstly, realize Y Company inventory management and analyze the problem from the situation of inventory management process, and then research on quantitative index of inventory management. According to the problems of Y Company, the article makes improvements on three aspects. First, optimize its inventory management flows, puts forward recombination inventory dispatching center based on SWOT thesis. Second, optimize the way of inventory management. Adopt inventory ABC classification, reinforcing scientific prediction, and carrying out inventory control to improve its management process. Finally, the article analyzes the direction of Y Company's information strategy construct. According to the physical truth, ERP system is needed to integrate resource of Y Company, and the information building of storage terminal based on RFID is a plus.
