A Study On Testing Qualify Improvement For Company W ODM Projects

Quality, cost and time are key success criteria to a project. High quality, low cost and innovative technologies are core competencies for Outsourcing Design Manufacturers(ODMs). To survive and grow, they should improve not only technologies but also quality management. But currently we see huge gap between global and domestic ODMs in quality management.In the thesis, firstly it briefly introduces ODM is one of electronic manufacturing outsourcing models, project quality management theories, research findings, five major thoughts from systematic engineering theory. Secondly, through looking into company W, an IT ODM, it gives an overview on company basic, ODM project management and testing process flow. From analyzing current status of ODM project quality management, here points out quality improvement has been made in company W, but overall quality level does still not met customers'requirements. Testing is proven critically impact to overall ODM project quality level. This thesis provides the list of quality problems and the root cause. In the end, according to these quality problems, five measures are provided to improve company W ODM project testing quality: 1)Optimizing and enhancing ODM project testing quality goals when performing project quality acceptance. 2)Standardizing and improving quality design which includes Design For Manufacturability and Design For Test on ODM projects. 3) Establishing predictive mechanism for testability's quality in ODM projects. 4) Improving quality control during testing development in ODM projects. 5) Standardizing and improving testing quality acceptance control in ODM projects.
