As the coming era of knowledge-economy and with the development of the Information technique, knowledge gradually became the most important strategic resource in the company instead of fund, labor, land and any other traditional production factors. It had a far-reaching influence on companies. In this new but complicated economic environment, intellectual capital(IC) as a core knowledge helped the company with the value creation project and competitive advantage keeping. IC symbolized creative, prospective and predictive company. With the development of tourism economy, hospitality is on the behalf of the service industry. The hospitality industry is confronted with intricate public circumstance, sharp market competition, rational and well-considered consumers. It is the most valuable research project to how to use the IC to develop hospitality. As Drake has said, it is hard to manage without assessment. The IC evaluation system of hospitality based on the four-category IC model created by Nemec Rudez in 2004, in reference to the Balanced Scorecard model, the H-S-C model, the Skandia Navigator model and the Intangible Assets Monitor. Data were collected by conducting questionnaire survey and were analyzed by means of SPSS17.0. It was concluded that intellectual capital is the underpinning of hospitality and their core competitiveness. Firstly the human capital and the end-customer-relationship capital had great effect on every aspect of the hotel. Secondly the factors about the structure capital deeply affected the potential competitiveness of the hospitality. Thirdly non-end-customer-relationship capital had more and more clear influence on the profitability of the hotel. At the end of the study, in consideration of the problems occurred in the High Star hotels in Xiamen, the paper gave some suggestion to help hospitality understand the IC. It is very significant and realistic that the evaluation system constructed here will become an important tool for hospitality to improve their competitiveness.
