Study On Interior Sign-oriented Identification System Design Of China High-speed Train

The High-speed train technology and developing " China Speed " has draw significant interest from all over the world, therefore the brand and the image of China High-speed train is becoming more and more important. In this thesis, we aim to establish a brand image of China's new generation high-speed train with a scientific, systematic and creative design of sign-oriented identification system. This system is achieved by integrating the culture of the CRH train's brand and interior/exterior design methodologies.This thesis begins with analysis on the relationships between cultures of designs, car's body shapes, characters of interior designs and in-car sign-oriented identification system in other counties. It is summarized that a good design of sign-oriented identification system not only matches the train's logo but also associated with the train's interior and exterior design, which build up an outstanding, complete visual identity. Then, this thesis starts from basic sign-oriented identification concepts, design elements and joining various cultures of designs in other countries, to acquire, deconstruct and improve, even rebuild a new relationship between people, objects and train. The level of identity and recognition of the system described in this thesis was then verified by various experimental methods such as sight analysis and surveys, etc. Therefore, this thesis suggests using train environment and cultures of designs as guidance, with considering acquiring elements, to design the sign-oriented identification systems, to improve the brand image and identity of the train.The last part of this thesis proposes a creative design of Beijing-Shanghai 380A trains with the general design principles that described in this thesis.We expect this thesis could provide certain references to the future researchers to prompt the development of the train sign-oriented identity systems design in our country and relevant fields.
