| After the summer Olympic Games reached its end, Chinese society has entered into the post-Olympic era. After hosting the Olympic sailing events, Tsingtao has reserved the precious and profound Olympic heritages, including a large amount of aquatic sports resources: 5A sailboat central scenic spot, international sailboat center, Olympic village, athletes'village, news center and Olympic square. Meanwhile the citizens'knowledge of sailboat/sailboard has reached a higher level that never occurred before, and the subjects in Tsingtao have leaped a great step. Under the municipal government's immense support and citizens'driving force, Tsingtao's commercial sailboat (sailboard) clubs have made the greatest achievements that have ever witnessed. Along with the development, a great number of clubs have registered in Tsingtao sailboat management center in case to provide service for Tsingtao citizens, tourists and consumers in and out of the country. To some extent, the development of Tsingtao's commercial sailboat(sailboard) clubs have reflected the development of Tsingtao sailboat(sailboard) activities, the fruit of Tsingtao's effort in building a city of sail, and also the achievement of Tsingtao's economy, tourism and humanity.The research summarizes the advantages of Tsingtao sailboat and sailboard commercial clubs in their maritime environment, venue, equipment and brand as well as existing problems in several aspects on the basis of an extensive investigation of its business condition and interviews with its managers, coaches and customers. With the combined employment of document data, questionnaire investigation, comparative analysis, Mathematical statistics and expert interview, as well as taking into consideration the expertise of sports management and sports industry economics and relevant experts opinions. It is suggested that, in order to maximize the profit during the utilization of the Olympic Yacht Game resources, clubs should highlight its advantages and minimize its disadvantages with corresponding measures. The thesis gives some advices on the solution to the clubs'existing problems and provides some theoretical basis and valuable experience to the development of sailboat and sailboard commercial clubs in Tsingtao and other cities in China.The survey shows that: 1 Being confined to different levels of district economic development and purchasing power, the locations of these clubs are limited; 2 Due to the geological limitations, the clubs are closed for almost 6 months in every year, without any flexible utilization of their resources; 3 With low financial support, the advertising and promotion activities of most clubs are dull and featureless. 4 The clubs fail to realize the importance of management, and don't have enough managerial staffs, and their coaches differ greatly in instruction skills and are weak in their service and education background. 5 The clubs own good docks and high-quality sailing boats and boards, but their boats fail to meet the customers'need for leisure for the monotony of their boat types. 6 The clubs fail to meet the customers'diverse needs for they are monotonous in entertainment activities and fail to give full play to the advantages of the new water sports of sailing boat and board.This research hold the view that the sailboat and sailboard commercial clubs in Tsingtao should take measures as follows: 1.Be initiative, and try to avoid the coastal Shinan district, choosing Laoshan or other new scenic areas to build the activity bases of sailboard clubs. 2. Use the existing resources flexibly, and overcome the limit of business hours caused by physical factors. Hold commercial competitions with the clubs of south of China, which will hold in Tsingtao in summer, and hold in south of China in winter. Add some high interesting aquatic sports or games, and add night service as well. 3. Increase the investment in publicity, advertising clubs in every aspect. Have a definite object in view to attract the potential consumers by club internet, colorful posters as well as TV advertisement. 4. Set up a professional management team to coordinate both investors and consumers of the club. Enhance the professional level of the sailboat and sailboard coaches. Make a unified professional qualification standard, and train the coaches at regular intervals. 5. If the condition of wharfs, sailboats and sailboards are good enough, enhance the grade of sailboats and sailboards, which are highly interesting and easy operating, to satisfy different needs of various customers. 6. Increase the business of sailboat and sailboard commercial clubs by introducing entertaining aquatic sports such as aquatic bicycles, aquaplanes as well as kayaks etc to supply more choices for customers, which will also attract more customers and make more profit. |
