A Study On The Tourism Human Resources Development In Post-Olympic Qingdao

Since the birth of Olympic Games, it has been closely linked to tourism. Hosting an Olympic event indicates the tourism industry has become modern, international and grown to a high level. And a group of professional talents are indispensable to its development. The study aims to combine the Olympic effect with Qingdao tourism human resources, take the Olympic impact on tourism in terms of its strategic planning, target, employment, tapping, cultivation and etc into account, and to nurture and forge a high-end tourism personnel who can cope with the new situation. With Olympic effect added into the study, Qingdao as the chosen key city with tourism development, also the Olympic co-host city, extending from the Olympic economy to tourism economy and taking research on the tourism human resources effect among those factors in Olympic effect, the author has come up with strategic targets for tourism human resources after 2008 Olympic Games, especially after the hosting of Olympic Sailing Regatta for the government and proposed detail development steps in light of increasing the human resources quantity and enhancing its quality. In terms of predicting tourism human resources quantity, the combining the trend forecast analysis of human resources development with its growth rate mode has enriched the forecast methods in tourism human resources demand. In addition, the tourism administration authorities of Qingdao can draw lessons from this paper to promote the development of tourism human resources in the coming years.Questionnaires have been adopted in this thesis. Based on actual data analysis, the author has discussed the Olympic effect and the influences on economy development of the host city, and then further discussed the impact of 2008 Olympic Games on Qingdao's tourism industry development. On the basis of analysis of current situation of tourism human recourses in post -Olympic Qingdao, counter measures for the tourism administration authorities after Olympic Games have reached. The structure of this thesis is arranged like below: there are four sections: in the first part, the significance of the subject, current research status both home and abroad, ideas, and the main innovations are discussed in the introduction; in the second, the author has elaborated the influence of Olympic effect on the economy development of the host city and further discussed the 2008 Olympic Games' impact on Qingdao tourism economy development by analyzing the definition and characteristics of Olympic economy; in the third part, this thesis has elaborated the influence of Olympic games on tourism human resources of Qingdao and pointed out the existing problems in Qingdao tourism human resources through some concepts, features and trend on tourism human resources study; while in the final part, predications about demand quantity and structure of tourism human resources in Qingdao in the coming years are made in the first place and then strategic planning and targets for tourism human resources development and development actions are proposed in terms of tourism human resources quantity and quality in Qingdao.
