The national level excellent courses program has been in progress for 7 years. During the 7 years, our country has built 3693 national level courses, including 1023 profession courses. In despite of a tremendous achievement, we still face great difficulties in the construction of this program.Profession Tourism education is quite important in profession education. It is necessary to promote the profession tourism national level excellent courses because excellent courses can drive knowledge shares and Tourism development. But compared with open course program abroad, the existing study on excellent course has not formed a complete research system, and mainly focus on the cognitive dimension of excellent courses status QUO or problems, relatively less research has been carried out on a certain subject. Besides, research on profession Tourism is still on the experience summarizing stage. It needs the exploration of theory and practice.Basic data is collected by questionnaire and the website visits. Situation learning theory, Self-directed Learning theory and excellent courses construction theory are comprehensively applied in this paper. The paper comprehensively uses the method of content and contrastive analysis to explore the status QUO of profession Tourism excellent courses. In order to understand the reality of the profession Tourism excellent course, we choose 25 tourism courses websites as our study objects.The main conclusions obtained from the research are as follows:Firstly, based on the Review index of national level excellent course, we extract four important factors which lead to the success of excellent courses. These four factors are content of courses, teaching method, teaching members and courses characteristic.Secondly, content analytic method is used to find how the 25 samples present their website content and we built the website content-payment model. The result indicates the profession tourism course websites has "high expected content but low content payment" feature.Thirdly, we use comparative analysis method to find the differences between the national level excellent course program in China and the open course program abroad. We still have a long way to improve our excellent courses.Forth, suggestions are made at the end of this paper. We hope not only profession tourism course but also the national level course can make good use of its website to achieve its value and the whole excellent education can become better and better.The research on the profession tourism courses based on content analytic method has theory value for researchers to broaden their horizons for a multidisciplinary and multi-dimensional study, meanwhile, it is of some practical significance for development and management of the whole national level excellent course program.
