The 21st century is a century of urbanization, which is both the process and consequence of human social economic development. Urbanization level often reflects development degree of a country or a region in economy and society, and also determines their basis and platform. Especially after Liaoning coastal economic belt is raised as a national strategy, Dalian plays a vital role in Liaoning Province and even Northeast China as a window for opening. The urbanization development level in Dalian will inevitably affect development of other coastal cities.As the pilot city of new urbanization, Dalian government put forward development strategy of whole domain urbanization, which is a new idea of new urbanization for leading areas. The concept, characteristics and theoretical basis of whole domain urbanization are studies, with the basic path and specific measures proposed then based on items above.Combined with theories in geography, economy and urban development, current situation of urbanization in Dalian and strategy for whole domain urbanization are comprehensively analyzed, with measures and advice proposed then for further development, providing rational references to whole domain urbanization of Dalian.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part expounds the present background of urbanization, writing purpose, content and route;The second part analyzes urbanization theory;The third part discusses the process and development tendency of urbanization;The fourth part comprehensively put forward strategy for whole domain urbanization of Dalian;The fifth part proposes measure and advice for continued implement of whole domain urbanization.
