As the development of telecommunication services, transport network which based on circuit-switching has been unable to meet the multi-service transport requirement in the communication networks, PTN technology is a better conversion solution to achieve circuit switching to packet switching. PTN technology is a packet-oriented next-generation platform which supports the basic characteristic of transport platform. Packet and transport are the two most important features of PTN.As a hot spot of PTN technology, T-MPLS is a connection-oriented MPLS,which simplifies some complex function of MPLS,increases the connection-oriented function of OAM, protection characteristics and uses ASON/ GMPLS as the control plane.Transport network asks a strict survivability. Traditional transport network (such as SDH technologies) has a better self-healing mechanism to ensure the survival of the network performance. The network survivability of oriented packet PTN technology has a higher requirement, so improving the survival performance of T-MPLS network is a must. The survivability of T-MPLS network is achieved through the network protection and restoration technology, which needs to meet the following objectives:Firstly, which can achieve the rapid self-healing of the existing SDH network protection level; Secondly, which can resistant the failure of single-point or multi-point; Thirdly, which can reduce the need of the protection bandwidth and complexity of the signaling.This paper introduces the the overall structure of T-MPLS technology firstly, describes the basic framework of T-MPLS such as the technical principles, hierarchical structure, system interfaces and QoS technology secondly, analyzes the OAM technology of T-MPLS network to implements the T-MPLS survivability mechanism thirdly. Then this paper analyzes the T-MPLS/MPLS-TP network technology from the network function system of the T-MPLS.Finally, combined with lots of tests and verification for the implementation of T-MPLS protect solution with Fiberhome's PTN device. The results show that the method can fit the protection switching timing standard for high capacity PTN device, which confirme the survival mechanism of T-MPLS network technology is perfect.
