Phonetics is a branch of the language. In recent years, there have been a lot ofdevelopments in Phonetics, the driving force of these developments lies in therequirements of communication engineering to find the most essential components ofthe voice, and the requirements of the development of high-quality voice synthesisand voice recognition systems on the intelligent computer, and closely related with theSpeech Pathology. Research in the field of phonetics can not be separated from thecomputer. In some of the nations at home and abroad have some developments onphonetics and speech acoustic engineering of speech synthesis and speech recognition.However, Uyghur voice acoustic engineering is relatively backward. Past studies,which related to the Uyghur speech research had use of traditional knowledge fromhearsay made some research on phoneme acoustic characteristics of Uyghur language,can not meet the requirements of high-quality speech synthesis and speechrecognition systems. The use of experimental phonetics research on Uyghur vowelpronunciation characteristics is still a black spot. Therefore, based on the actualapplication requirements of high natural speech synthesis and high-precision voicerecognition technology research, this article studied the vowel pattern of Uyghurlanguage by using the methods of experimental phonetics.In this paper, on the basis of traditional phonetics, take advantage of thetheoretical knowledge of digital computers and digital signal processing, by using themethods of experimental phonetics and voice pattern theory, Analyzed andsummarized the voice characteristics of the Uyghur language vowel. With the use of"Uyghur language voice acoustic parameter database", mapped out the acoustic vowelchart and systematically analyzed and summarized the tongue characteristics of themonosyllables,disyllable words and three-syllable words in the database, by usingJoos method. According to the frequency of the vowel formants F1,F2,F3,F4, drawnup the Uyghur language vowel formant pattern of different sex, and verified again theUyghur language vowel phonetic system. For the first time, this paper has proved theaccordance of tongue location features of Uyghur vowel with the traditionalknowledge from hearsay by using the actual experimental data. This study will revealthe voice phenomenon which can not be observed in the past, play an active role onthe excavation and protection of the Uyghur language.The results of the study have commercial value and academic value in speechengineering field, such as speech synthesis, speech recognition, speech research,speech teaching etc. The research results of this paper will have a high reference valuefor the study and application development of both Uyghur language and Altaiclanguage.
