Wireless network is rapidly growing widespread as expansion and extension of thetraditional wired network. Adopt the wireless medium for data transmission, terminalnode of wireless network is movable, wireless network topology is variable, so it makesquality of service in wireless networks challenging. This paper researches that the basic media of IEEE802.11and IEEE802.11e MACtaps into control protocol DCF and of EDCF, considered: compared with IEEE802.11,IEEE802.11e sets up different priority to achieve the guarantee of the quality of service,by distinguishing the data stream of different services. It has obvious advantages, however, there is also shortage and conflict that in the condition of high competition, the resources of low priority business was run out by high priority business, thentransmission is not fair, so low priority business has low throughput. This article asserts:the limitations and inflexibility of the layered architecture leads to this problem. For this reason, the paper describes the role of cross-layer design for improvingperformance of wireless network, and holistically, breaking the independence betweenthe layers of the current stratification system structure, the scheme is put forward thatthe network is optimized integrally by passing control information between the layersMeanwhile, aimed at the shortage of IEEE802.11e, this paper proposed that try toensure low priority business without affected QoS of the higher priority business, andthen improve the fairness of transmission, by making use of the incomplete cooperationgame theory between different nodes and adopting the strategy of combiningcompetition and cooperation. NS-2simulation result shows that: compared withIEEE802.11e EDCA, the performance of this program is effectively improved in thethroughput and fairness and achieved the compromise on throughput and fairness thatwe were desired.
