As an important branch of virtual reality, three-dimensional panorama relies on Internet technology and geographic information system(GIS), with its realistic visual experience, wealth of geographic information, advanced human-computer interaction and immersive "immersion", has gradually changing the way people understand and perceive the material world.Currently, people access to graphic information through computer mainly depends on GIS. The traditional two-dimensional GIS system can only perform plane map rendering based on geographic information data and uniform rules, the additional property layer and information layer are just accumulation of geographic features based on that, which cannot reflect the height, color, relative three-dimensional location of the feature. A feasible solution to these deficiencies is three-dimensional GIS system, which expand the visualization of geographic information from two-dimensional to three-dimensional by appropriately three-dimensional modeling. However, the model made by three-dimensional system relies on the modelers, which decides it cannot fully reflect the original information of geographic features. Besides, because of its complex data model, vast amounts of geographic data and time-consuming rendering process, three-dimensional GIS system is still in research stage and it is difficult to be applied in practice.This paper presents an interactive three-dimensional panorama system. Based on two-dimensional GIS system, it restores the real visual information of the geographic features through the collection of panoramic images. By appropriately three-dimensional modeling according to the collected three-dimensional data and integrated it with the scenes, the three-dimensional panorama system can perform some real three-dimensional functions, especially the perspective effect when doing scene change and the ranging function in scene, make users have real three-dimensional visual experience. Property layer and feature layer can also be added to the3D scene, by interacting with which, users can perform some simulation operation of the feature and query the property data. Based on features mentioned above, this panorama system can be applied in transformer substations and hotels and so on, to show the features really. So the three-dimensional panorama system is a geographic information system with three-dimensional visual experience based on two-dimensional GIS system.Begin from the data models in the three-dimensional objects, this paper elaborates the acquisition and the configuration of all kinds of data in this system, and splits the panorama image into tiles to optimize the data model. Then introduces the mathematical theory and graphics algorithm, and on this basis, this paper proposes a panorama image generating algorithm based on hexahedral and spherical model. And then the system's technical architecture is proposed, based on which the implementation is discussed of three-dimensional panorama system.
