With the development of science and technology, intelligent equipment has gradually penetrated into people's daily life, and its applications makes life more simple and efficient. In which, the barcode technology is a typical application of the intelligent equipment. According to certain rules, barcode makes the smaller image bearing a wealth of information, then realizes the uniform management of goods through the fast read of the image information easily.Based on the EAN-13code as an example, the barcode images are got through the camera, preprocessed and reduced the contamination of barcode; Then turn into a horizontal state by the adaptive rotation algorithm of image automatically, solved the problem of arbitrary angle barcode's reading; Using morphological processing to achieve the specific regions of the corrosion and diffusion, which extract the barcode area; Using local threshold to achieve binary image, excludes the defects brought by global threshold; Finally, according to the barcode coding rules and using similar edge distance method to complete the interpretation, and compared to the actual width measurement method, improves the detection accuracy.The experimental results show that, this method can solve the complex background of inclined barcode automatic correction, realize the accurate interpretation, and provides certain basis for long-distance bar code recognition.
