Today, human is facing a serious threat of depletion of fossil fuels such ascoal, oil, and produces large amounts of carbon dioxide when burning, cause arise in temperature of the Earth, deterioration of the ecological environment.Solar energy as a new type of energy, there are reserves of universal, infinite,using clean, economic and other advantages, but there is a low density, solaruneven spatial distribution of the drawback, which makes the current series ofsolar-powered device to lower utilization of solar energy. The Sun in motion atall times, if solar energy conversion section of the device always perpendicularto the Sun's rays, so it can collect more solar energy within a limited area.However, if solar energy conversion section of the device always perpendicularto the Sun, to track the Sun. To resolve this problem, the Sun azimuth detectingdevice provided the conditions. Through analysis and studies, solar-powereddevice for detection and tracking of the Sun and non-tracking, the difference inenergy utilization of37.7%.This topic is based on CCD image sensor, the digital image processor DSPhardware, solar azimuth detection using image processing technology researchand development unit, presented a Sun azimuth detection scheme based on CCDand DSP. Experiments show that the design of the Sun azimuthdetecting device can be detected with higher accuracy to the Sun.
