In1990s, scholars of the United States first proposed the concept of information technology ineducation, which caused positive response of many countries in the world. They have formulated their ownplans to promote IT applications in domestic education system, srtiving to develop educationalinformationization.The development and utilization of educational resources is the core of informationtechnology, and it is also the key whether we can successfully construct it or not. The teaching resourceswebsite which serves as an important part of the educational resources can surely promote personalized andsocialized learning.Under such condition, many colleges and education institutions have set up their ownteaching resources website to attract the public eye and share educational resources with on-line learners,which not only brings convenience to them, but also stimulates their growing demand for teachingresources.However, faced with the dramatic increases of website information, the users usually can't findwhat they need quickly and accurately because of the disorder of the information. The informationarchitecture (IA) theory put forward by the American architect R.S.Wurman nowadays, is of great help forpeople to find and administrate information effectively. In short, the IA,as a basic theory for website design,is considered to be an indispensable science and art for website construction.Firstly, this thesis makes an analysis of the current situation of teaching resources website constructionat home and abroad, then boldly introduces the theory of Information Architecture to guide the constructionof resources website and illustrates plans for constructing teaching resources website on the basis of it.Finally, it takes the design and implementation of the teaching resources website of the Henan NormalUniversity as an example to elaborate how to utilize the theory of Information Architecture to designteaching resources website from six aspects: the resource site's overall planning, organizationsystem,identification system, navigation system, retrieval system as well as user experience-basedinteraction system. In the last part of this thesis, it puts forward its innovation and limitations of its studyand gives some study prospects for the future.This study introduces the theory of Information Architecture into the construction of teachingresources website and it is of great significance. Meanwhile, it plays a draw on other resources site construction.
