Accompany with the development of Biological Evolution Theory, Evolution Technology becomes a universal problem solve technology. Through learning from the process of evolution, solving the complicated issues in the life, Biological Evolution Theory is used in the practise perfectly. Among all kinds of Evolutionary Algorithm, Genetic Algorithm has the most rapid devolopment.Genetic Algorithm uses the way of target population to get genetic, searches multiple regions of solution space, takes genetic operations and fitness analysis, produces the more excellent filial generation, and has the end of getting the best solution idealy.The Finite Element Theory is widely used in engineering pratices, not only improve the accuracy of structural analysis, save the time of structral design, but also achieve programming and parametric design. Combine Evolution Theory with Finite Element Analysis, appliy for the metal structural design of brige crane, have a remarkable scientific and economic value, and guide engineering project preferably.First, the article researches on the dokumentation about Genetic Algorithm and Structural Evolution Design at home and abroad, briefly expound the disquisitive history and actuality of structural evolution design and finite element theory; Second, make the parametric model by the APDL language of ANSYS, work conditions analysis in accordance with the design specifications, mathematical model combining with Genetic Algorithm, genetic evolution operation and fitness analysis, then get the best solution meeting all the requirements; Finally, use VC++6.0to finish the encapsulation of arithmetic, get simple user interface for engineering application.The article sets out from structural design of brige crane, combines with the adventages of GA and FEM, makes the metal structural rapid calculation in work conditions and parallel optimization, gets the best solution satisfactorily, at last guides engineering practices preferable.
